16 June 2016, Dear Friends and Fellow Laborers, Baal worship is coming back to modern day Israel. In ancient Israel, Baal was a replacement for Yahweh, the true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It wasn’t that Yahweh disappeared from the culture of Israel; it was that Baal was worshiped as provider and sustainer instead of Yahweh. Baal was considered more powerful and became the supreme deity of the Canaanites and ultimately, Israel. Some ancient texts show that Baal wanted to overcome the Creator El and become king of the gods. Sound familiar?

Winds of Change in Burma?

Aung San Suu Kyi, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and once one of the most famous political prisoners in modern history, is now traveling the world on behalf of the government and people of her native Burma (Myanmar). She had been under house arrest for 15 of the last 21 years. Now her political party, called the National League for Democracy, is part of the Myanmar government and recently won 41 of the 43 vacant seats in the lower house of the Myanmar parliament. The military backed party still controls most of parliament, but her election and the inclusion of the NLD in government signals changes to come…

7 Baptized, 28 Take the Passover

Gloria and I just returned to Chiang Mai, Thailand from a very successful trip to Myanmar (Burma) for Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread. Seven new people were baptized and added to the Body of Christ. A total of 28 shared the symbols of the bread and wine at the New Covenant Passover.
