On August 13th, Legacy Institute celebrated the Queen of Thailand's Birthday. In recognition of this national holiday, classes were cancelled. A former teacher graciously funded a field trip for the students and so, we packed all of the students into our blue Sung Tao (pickup truck) and headed off to the Mae Sa Waterfall.

For those of you who might be concerned about radical Islamic activity in Thailand, please read below. As I suspected, the Thai police kept things well under control and nothing even near to what is taking place in the Magreb and Middle East has happened here.
Protesters Try To Storm US Embassy In Yemen - US embassy attacked in Cairo - US ambassador to Libya killed in attack - The US ambassador to Libya and three other staff were killed when the US consulate in Benghazi was attacked overnight on Tuesday. - Two killed as U.S. troops ambushed en route to rescue besieged diplomats in Benghazi - Tunis police disperse embassy protesters - Sudanese protest outside US embassy - Protests ramp up at embassies in Iran, Switzerland, Egypt, Yemen - What is even more astonishing is that the US government just sent the Muslim Brotherhood government in Egypt 1.5 Billion U.S. Dollars in foreign aid!
All those who thought our support for the “freedom fighters” in Libya was going to result in freedom and democracy for the Libyan people need to wake up to the realities of the Islamic world. So much for the Arab Spring! The downfall of Kaddafi was bankrolled by the United States. The USA gave money and helped rebels with NATO air support. What was not blasted over the airwaves by major news services was that the leaders of the anti-Kaddafi fighters were Al Qaida operatives with their own agenda for a post-Kaddafi Libya. Now the crows come home to roost. In what is clearly a planned and well executed attack on the consulate in Benghazi, 4 Americans, including the U.S. Ambassador were killed.
Top German court paves way for eurozone rescue fund. This was a heavily debated move. What it means is that German taxpayers will fund lending money to almost bankrupt countries in the EuroZone that used the Euro currency. But why would Germany bail them out? Most Germans are very conservative and angry with countries like Greece, Spain and Italy that are fiscally irresponsible. The answer is that The Dream is Bigger than selfishness. What dream is that ? It is the dream of the RE-CREATION of the Roman Empire. It is the spirit of Charlemagne that will not – nay, cannot die in Germany and France. It is the dream of a world ruling empire from the British Isles to Afghanistan and all across North Africa. It is the resurrection of the glory days of Rome. The euro cannot be allowed to collapse. And the only way this is possible is to lend money to the irresponsible southern partners in order to keep the euro solvent. The Dream will not be allowed to die. That is why the Euro must be saved.
I thought it might interest you to find out more about our students who are now studying at the Legacy Foundation Leadership Training Center. In Thailand, we are known as the Legacy Foundation instead of Legacy Institute. In 2002, the Thailand Ministry of Culture officially chartered us as a charitable foundation and empowered us to provide education to young people in Thailand and surrounding countries.
Jack fruits are native to South Asia. Its fruit is the largest tree-borne fruit in the world, reaching as much as 80 pounds in weight, up to 36 inches long, and 20 inches in diameter. Here you can see a small jack fruit is much larger than my head. Here one of the students climbs the tree at the farm to retrieve the fruit. Waiting anxiously for the scream from above "Incoming!!!"... And success! We harvested nine using a screen to catch them and used them at Legacy school in a number of ways below.
