9 February 2020 – DearBrethren and Fellow Laborers, We are living in the End Times, and we see more and more the Matthew 24 prophecies coming about; but Matthew says these are the beginning of sorrows and the end is not yet. When we continue to read, the prophecies tell us how terrible it will be—like never before—when Jesus returns. We are given scriptures thattell us what to watch for! We ourselvesmust be ready for our own personal life’s end that may come before Jesus’ feet touch the Mount of Olives.
Dear Friends and Fellow laborers, Graduation at Legacy is always a hectic—but fun—time. Our volunteer teachers and students must finish up their classes, take finals, and practice speeches, and chorale for the graduation ceremony. This year we had FIVE graduates: Hser Nay Htoo, Hser Nay Paw, Hser Nay Say, Moe Palel, and Nay Blu Htoo. In attendance were students’ family and friends, and other guests.
Dear Friends and Fellow Laborers,
Last month I received a surprise telephone call from Queen Sirikit’s deputy private secretary. She said that Her Majesty was inviting Gloria and me to come to Bangkok for a concert. I explained that Gloria was already in California taking care of her 96-year-old Aunt Gerda for a few months. She said she would get back to me. A short time later, the queen’s secretary called back and asked if I would agree to accept the invitation and come alone. I said I would accept.
30 August 2017 – Dear Friends and Fellow Laborers, This is an emergency letter appealing for you to help us here at Legacy in Thailand and Myanmar. The Bible tells me: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7) So, I am asking, seeking, and knocking. Our donations have dramatically dropped over the past three months. Monthly donations have dropped to 40% of what we usually receive. I am not ashamed to say that we are really hurting. We have an office to run in Chiang Mai with employees, and we send funds to Myanmar on a monthly basis to conduct the ministry and sponsor student’s education in both high school and university. There is also food, clothing, and transportation expenses for them. A 60% drop in monthly donations is devastating. We cannot sustain the Work here on that. We were bare bones before.
